About:

Born in Johannesburg South Africa 1962 during the Hippie era was like entering wonderland. All you needed was LOVE!. From my earliest years I remember showing a keen interest in Art and asked alot of questions. As a child I loved to draw and was fascinated by light and shade, form and volume. All through primary school I sketched and practiced drawing Super Heros. In high school I chose to do Art as one of my major subjects and succeded attaining distinctions. After Matric I studied at Wits, (Graphic Design) and later at the AAA School of Advertising and Design. After an incredible career in advertising starting at Grey advertising as a Juniour Graphic designer, I finally worked my way up the ladder to Senior Art director at Ogilvy a career spanning over 30 years. I realised that whilst I had to be creative in my career, I was not utalising my creative talent to full potential. Also it was time to give back and I decieded to share my knowlege anddecieded to lecture Graphic design at various colleges, namely AAA School of Advertising and Damelin to name a few. I spent approximatley 7 years lecturing and enjoyed great satisfaction watching my students succeed. In one particular year my students where rated TOPS in the country by the governing body from England. It was a very proud moment for me. Since lecturing full time, I have been working extensively as a full time artist, exhibiting abroard especially in Dubai and have had excellent response to my work as 80% of my art has been sold and bought both locally and abroard. My main media type is oils and in terms of subject matter I enjoy painting a cross section of subject matter ranging from contemporary, Portraits, Wild life, Surreal, African and Modern. I firmly believe in learning from the Great masters however find it just as important to develop ones own style and experiment. Self development is very important however it is just as important that we share our knowlege. Art is paramount to our existence in keeping the human record
